There are three switches downstairs. Each corresponds to one of the three light bulbs in the attic. You can turn the switches on and off and leave them in any position.
How would you identify which switch corresponds to which light bulb, if you are only allowed one trip upstairs?

You switch the first switch on for 10 minutes and then switch it off again. You then switch the second switch on and leave the third switch off. When you go in the attic, the bulb that is off, but still warm (hopefully no LED bulbs or it won't work!) belongs to the first switch, the bulb that is on belongs to the second switch, and the bulb that is off and cool, belongs to the third switch.Graverobber wrote:Roosters don't lay eggs![]()

You hear it speak for it has a hard tongue. But it cannot breathe for it has not a lung. What is it?

The letter E!
If you're 8 feet away from a door and with each move you advance half the distance to the door. How many moves will it take to reach the door.
