I understand, I'm going through some weirdness myself. But you know what? You won't regret being honest and clear and insisting on what you deserve... but you WILL regret not doing that. I hope that makes sense.

This is unfortunate indeed I know how much you love her. I really hope he lets you keep her, or maybe you two can share joint custody? Sounds silly but some pet owners do just that when relationships end.

Oh I know, I guess we'll see what happens, she doesn't really like to be moved, but if that's what it comes down to, yeah. I find it bizarre that there are so many cats that get left behind and no one wants, and two people are fighting over this one! But she is my baby!

Indeed, cats aren't like dogs, they don't like to move around a whole lot.
It is very sad the statistics on cats being abandoned by their owners, or any pet for that matter, quite sad really. I hope he's kind and allows you to keep her. I would hope after more than a year of being together he can give you at least that much respect.
