I will definitely check them out if I can find them stateside. And I love Twix and KitKat! They have always been two of my favorites since I was a child! :)

Do you have Caramac in America? It's caramel with the the consistency of chocolate, and it has a red and yellow wrapper. I eat that quite often (a little too often, actually) :)

It always twists the mind when you find out that something so 'everyday' normal to you is extraordinary to someone else.
Even in the same country there can be such diversity.

I have never seen Caramac anywhere before. I will have to keep my eyes open for that too I guess? ;)

And speaking of everyday normal, all of you have had fresh cheese curds, right? :)

No ... no, I have never heard of cheese curds. Is that some sort of infection?

They are little, bite size, irregular shaped pieces of cheese that usually come packaged in a one pound (450g) bag. You eat them with your hands and they are extremely delicious. And you know that they are fresh if they squeak when you bite into them! Super yummy!

Ohhhh ... those. I know about them, but I didn't know they were called cheese curds. I may as well just buy a block of cheese and eat that :)

No, no, no! They taste significantly superior to block cheese. They have a much higher moisture content in them which makes the taste so much better than regular cheese. If they would try to make a block with the same moisture content as the cheese curds, it would be almost the consistency of slightly hardened jello. It would not work well for grilled cheese sandwiches at all! ;)

They sound gross. I don't think I'd like to try them :)

Have no fear. I do not know of these cheese curds. And no, I didn't just typo "cheese turds" I swear.

I was thinking today that I should take a picture of Japanese candies to show you guys. But then I figured no one would care.

You can take the pictures, it does sound very interesting, but you guys are missing the boat on cheese curds. Also, you can take some of those candies that you take the pictures of and send them to us for sampling too. ;):)
