Do you prefer E Book or Paper Book

Definitely paper.. I love to feel it under my fingers, and it feels much better to read a real book in my opinion.

A friend brought his brand new e-book reader and was so happy about it, I tried to read from it and while I have to agree they are handy and allow you to carry an impressive amount of book with you, it just didn't feel quite the same..

I think E-books are good and will become a big hit in the future. Saves paper, that itself should be the reason. You are right, since they don't have a standard, people are wary buying ebooks. I buy for Palm, so far it is excellent, but I am worried in the future, what will happen when I switch to a different device.

Paper back for sure, i have a whole bookshelf full of book and i'm proud to own such a collection, it just woulnt be the same to have them ALL on a tiny little device or on a computer.
I DO read ebook on my computer however but only books i cant afford as i'm skint and downloading them is my only option.

I simply don't understand the appeal of an electronic book. I will admit, when the Kindle came out, I kind of liked the idea of being able to take such a simple and compact device wherever I went, especially for trips. But even if it wouldn't murder my bank account, I agree with those who say it just isn't satisfying, besides, I love having books and even just having a loaded bookshelf. Besides, my grandparents gave me this beautiful copy of "The Lord of the Rings" for one of my birthdays, and it's my favorite of all my collection. I just couldn't say that if it were a digital file. I just think there's too much humanity in simply bound pages that convenience will never erase for me.

At this point, I don't have any more shelf space. I have to get rid of some physical books before I buy any more. I'd buy ebooks, but I'm not willing to pay for anything with DRM. So my bookbuying's going to slow way down. It'll be Gutenberg and the library.

Although I like the feel of an actual book, ebooks are better for the environment as well as cheaper. I don't buy all my books in digital format but if buying ebooks are saving more trees then I think I'll go that route

I prefer books. I think it adds to the joy of reading...being able to hold the book and the sound of the page turning and the smell of the paper...it brings me such happy memories. I like to be able to curl up anywhere with my book or just stick it in my purse when I'm going somewhere. I know you can do that with those Kindle things now, but it just seems to be so impersonal. I really think of books as friends.

I infinitely prefer books. I'm just an old-fashioned person, and I love to hold the book in my hands, feel it, smell it, and hear the sound of the pages turning. I especially love the smell of older books. You cannot capture any of that with an Ebook. And I don't mind that books take up more space; nothing makes me feel warmer inside than looking at my dad's bookshelves, absolutely loaded to the brim with books. It makes a house seem homey.

I have a definite preference for paper. There is something soul satisfying about holding a book. I love its solidity. the sense of accomplishment turning each page and closing the cover at the end. I love all the beautiful cover artwork too. I've read a couple of books online; however, it is so uncomfortable to sit at the computer. I hate it. I will say, though, I always have an audiobook on my IPod to listen to while I'm walking or doing dishes. I try to choose something easy to listen to that doesn't require a lot of concentration, e.g., A Confederacy of Dunces.

I have found through the years that I mark up my books and then when I go back to read them again, I mark with a different color. What a difference in revelations from the content of the book at the time I read it.

I read mostly non-fiction and I write non-fiction. There is so much to be done and written about in the recovery world.

I preferred hardcopy books all the way (and I believe I mentioned this before). But I'm so excited to get getting my Kindle tomorrow, so my opinion may change very soon.

I received my Kindle and I absolutely love it! I don't know why I waited so long to buy one. It's great because it's very light. I carry my backpack around with me all the time, and it gets pretty heavy carrying around 2 or 3 books. It uses real ink technology, so it's like reading off of paper rather than like on a screen. Much easier on the eyes. I also love it that I can order my books right off of the Kindle, so having a computer for downloads isn't necessary. Very convenient. Another great perk for the Kindle is that many of the classics are free (or almost free). I've downloaded some of my classic favorites for free. I feel like a walking advertisement for the Kindle. I've been taking it with me to work, and I've been so excited to show it off to my coworkers. A couple had commented now that they see the Kindle for themselves, they want to buy it for family members. I dont' know how happy you're with your Sony Reader, but my Kindle is heaven sent.
