Have You Learned Anything About Yourself Since Becoming A Book Reviewer?

Have you learned anything about yourself since becoming a book reviewer? I have always been adamant about my dislike for books on terrorism. To my amazement, after reviewing Jack Winnick's Devil in False Colors, he is now one of my favorite authors. I really enjoyed the book and look forward to reading more of his books.

I learn that a book is like a person, maybe has defects, errors and a estrange personality but it always hide something beautiful that can captive someone’s attention. That’s a reason to read all kind of books, you’ll never know what you can find in its pages

I've learned that even if I don't think I'm going to like a book because it's not my favorite genre or something that it could still be amazing. There are so many authors out there that can make any genre interesting and I find that really cool.

Some of the science fiction books out here are pretty amazing too. I am definitely broadening my horizon.

This made me realize how critical I am when it comes to books.

I have learned the hard way twice that if a book is really good, I get sucked into it. Then when I get to the end, I'm so excited to write my review that I have a heart attack moment. I realize I got sucked in and took 0 notes and now I'm going to have to reread the book (oh so terrible right? haha)
Also learned between my 5 kiddos that they only pick when I'm reading or typing to want to talk to me or play a game. They do their own thing a lot of the time. It's like they know I'm doing something for myself and they now want me. haha

I realize that I can actually read 300 pages in a day. Well, that's without doing anything. But still, I'm impressed with myself about that.

Since I become a book reviewer, I found out what genre best suited me. I sensed that I become a fast reader as well. And I would say, I'm improving. Thanks for this online community. Kind and welcoming members. I'm grateful.

I am a patient person by nature, but I am fast when it comes to reading. I used to finish books in one day, no matter how many pages they were, but as a reviewer, I discovered that I have the patience to check all the mistakes and take notes, and even enjoy it, in addition to my love for reading types of books that were not my interest before, such as self help books.

Somehow, I landed here five years ago (maybe we could call it destiny). But I feel somewhat blessed that I am here now. I was really missing something in life. But not now! Now, I could call myself a reader!

I have learned to read till end even the books that I am not liking. I used to leave so many books incompletely read, and later pick them up again after a few years.
