HOW DID YOU MEET YOUR MATE?

In his restaurant, having dinner w/a gal pal...and there he was!

owner / chef /renaissance man...he joined us to inquire how we liked the dinner, and the rest is history...

it was the date that never ended, we were married one month later.....the marriage lasted over 25 yrs. until he died...never sick a day in his life until his fatal aneurysm...

my mother said i was nutz to accept his proposal so quickly, but my friends knew that he " was the one "..after a million dates in my ten years of widowhood...

I thank God that both husbands were my soulmates...how did i get so lucky!

how about you ?

You are incredibly lucky Suzy!

Matt and I's "how did we meet" story is really strange.
It could have turned into a terrible disaster but luckily it ended greatly and I'm blessed.
I had this habit of chain smoking out of my bedroom window listening to great records at late hours of the night and matt was an insomniac who took midnight strolls. He heard my music and just started migrating around my street everynight to listen to my music. Then, after several nights of seeing this weirdo night after night I went off on him for being a creeper and the entire time I was in his face and being all 'stop being weird you're freaking me the heck out' and he just kept staring at me and when I screamed 'what!?' He busted up laughing and told me he just really liked my music. And after I had the whole 'oh' moment, we started talking about the music and I got him into people and bands he had never heard of before and then it just became a regular thing for him to come over and listen to music. Then after talking we realized we both liked hiking so we went on hikes together and so on and eventually fell for eachother.
My best friend likes to joke that I married my stalker.

" My best friend likes to say " I married my stalker ".............funny, funny line...

Laci! i love your story, i'm sure it's one in a million... very unique...

Isn't it weird how " fate " works...all the what " ifs "..

If your window wasn't open for him to hear your music...

if i didn't go out for dinner that night? or we chose a different restaurant?...

ya gotta believe in " fate "...everything being " pre-destined " whaddya think ?

i wish you years and years of happiness w/your Matt!

Thank you.

I definitely believe in fate and I'm thankful for how blessed I am with someone so amazing.
He is my opposite on so many things but at the same time we have so much in common.
I'm an incredibly lucky girl and I know fate has everything to do with it.

Awww I so enjoy reading people's love stories...I believe in destiny sometimes absolutely. I was a security guard and he was campus police. I first saw him when he was helping control a drunk n' disorderly. Then a couple weeks later a flasher showed up in the building I was assigned to.

This beefy guido shows up to make jokes and write the report. Gawd I was soooo shy, and actually for all the bluster he was too. But somehow we agreed to go to the movies together...that was 1986, we had our falling outs over the years but the older you get...funny how you can switch roles. He became quiet and mellow and I became the outspoken one somehow...hey it works...

Suzy, I don't have a problem with you asking questions. :D
We've been married for almost two years.
I don't know if that's still considered honeymoon stage but it still feels like it.

Nothing really unusual for me. My first wife I met on a blind date, my second wife I met at work after my first wife and I were divorced, she died and I met my third wife on a telephone dateline.
