I am new to this site, and very much just want to be given books to review. I have posted many times on here but keep getting a notice that there are no books for me to review. I know that most of the points are given by reviewing books, and not in the book review forum board but actual book reviews so how do I increase my score to get books available to me if there is no way to increase my score?! I would very much appreciate any help here!! Just a book lover trying to share my love of books and get my writing of book reviews out there to help authors who deserve it thanks for your input!!

I believe you have some kind of trial period before you're given access to books. In addition, while 30 posts is respectable by any means, I didn't get book review opportunities until around 50 or so posts. Just keep posting!! Also, go to the Review Team Forum on the Forum Home page and you will get instructions on how to go about increasing your user level. Good luck!

Thank you! I just started yesterday so I will keep posting for sure Is it like a set number of days before you are given access? I guess that would makes sense that they want to make sure you are serious about the whole thing and are able to write decent posts. Has this been your experience? I will read those pages again. Should I be writing reviews on books or responding to other forum posts. Is there one that is better than the other? I really appreciate your help!!!

I've been on here for a few months so I don't really remember the exact timing but the Review Team Page is really helpful. On there, you will find a link that says "Click here to learn more about levels and the exact criteria for each level." (it's towards the bottom of the page). It should have all of the information you need!

As BookFever has said above on the banner at the top of the HomePage you will find a FAQ section which includes a selection of the most common questions asked about the Review Team & no doubt your Q is already answered there - it should be the first place you look if you have a query.

Haha Yes I am a bit on the impatient side. At the start it seemed that you simply needed 5 posts and then access to the books but it seems that is not the case lol. I have no problem working more for the opportunity, but it simply was not what was initially expected, hence the query. I have looked at the FAQ page but wanted opinions from users themselves, not the site that issues the promise. I always like both sides when doing my diligence. Thanks for you post!

Also, I have just been looking over the review score information myself and am confused by the 'eligible post count.' I understand that posts in the off-topic section do not count, but what qualifies as a "very short post"?

I don't know for sure... but I know off topic posts don't count no matter how long. And I would assume responses that are like one sentence... or not very interactive don't count either.

Like if responding to a review and you just say "Great review! *adds to reading list*" It doesn't even show that you read it. They have issues on this site of people just trying to up their post count quickly in order to gain access to the review team... so they can get that $$. haha. I think basically it is anything that doesn't include a little bit of personal insight or interaction with previous posts.

Welcome to the site! As was said off topic section and one word sentences and the like don't count. Good luck!
