I'm a bit of a crafty person, as well as liking to cook, so I thought this could be fun.

Examples:
I just baked a cake
I just crocheted an afghan
I just made it to work on time

I just made caramel sauce

Chili

I don't even know how in the world to make caramel sauce. I have made chili before though... with the directions on the package of chili powder... heh heh...

The last thing I made was a mess. HAHAHA

Cheese from yogurt ( better than cream cheese which is loaded w/nasty stuff )

I make a pot of vegetable soup every week. It's part of a weight control program I adhere to. I am also an avid gardener. Along that line, I just finished a small patio, where my wife and I spend some time in the evenings. I located it facing a waterfall that I built some years ago. The sound of the waterfall blocks most of the noise of the busy world we live in.

Caldo Verde, a Portuguese Kale soup, Sauerkraut, and pickled turnips, Chinese style ribs, chopped liver, rice pudding, more baked apples, Cobb salad...

Alynn, you sound like me in the kitchen. When Im done cooking they have to call in the disaster clean-up squad.

Last thing I made. Food wise, it would be potato soup. Anything else was a hot and cold water splitter for my washer. Not very exciting Im afraid.

A pizza w/cream cheese base, potatoes, shredded cheddar, bacon, and chives, sprinkled with a little garlic salt. Sour cream on the side. Sounds strange, but it was darn good.

More specifically, mashed potato bake with caramelised onions, ham, and peas.

Okay, so the last thing I made was a review for a book. That's something you make, right? Writing is creating is making? That's how my mind works, anyway.

Oh, and I also made my bed this morning. Whee!

Shudders for the window on my front porch. The front door is now much friendlier.
That's not necessarily a good thing. It's an election year.

Alynn, you " made your bed ", but didja make nice to your cat?

A friend brought me Scallops so I made " Coquille St. Jacques " ( the first French dish my husband taught me how to cook )

It sounds " fancy ", but it's not, the presentation just makes it seem that way because of the "Ramekins "...

I made a red rice Pilaf to go w/it...Seafood and rice still remains my fave type of dish...

For sure. I made it the way my mother made it. The best in the world.
