We all love reading. However, there are times when we may want to take a break from reading and enjoy not a so-so movie but a great movie! What are some of your most enjoyable movies past or present, new or old?

Two movies that I completely enjoyed and would highly recommend is Gone With the Wind and Titanic. The actors and actresses were all great. Also, I was mesmerized throughout both films.

World War Z. Though it was different from the book, it was still an excellent movie. It was definitely one of the best zombie movies I have seen. The plot was very good as well as the acting and directing whic all combined making it into quite the unique movie and a great watch.

The Intouchables, ( recommended by Fran )...bravura performances by two unknown ( to me ) French actors........

This flick should be required viewing in all schools, ( although the story line has nothing to do w/race relations ) it is a stunning example of two men of different races /backgrounds, etc. thrown together, and from there a most interesting story evolves...

On a score of 1-10, I gave it an 11!

Flight is my favorite. Although it was critically acclaimed, I think it was the most suspenseful yet heartfelt movie ever. I think it will take some time for others to appreciate it as much as I have though. I just think it is very relatable and that is why I love it so much.

Rssllue I have had this movie on my list for awhile now! Thanks for affirmation. I really do hate wasting my time on a terrible film. This movie sounded so good when I was reading the synopsis I added it. However I was not sure still.

I agree. I absolutely love Denzel. This movie definitely showed another side of his acting abilities.

YES RSS, it most definitely broke the scale ( and I admittedly am not easy to please )

I dont think I have one favorite movie. I like many equally. The Five Pennies is a favorite, Pete Kelly's Blues, and Command Decision and The Searchers are a few. I could put down 40 or 50. Cant name just one.

I would have to say "City Of God" is my favorite movies because of it's truth, rawness, and grittiness. The story is a true story and one I can relate to. The story of a boy overcoming his tumultuous surroundings, never loosing who he is and finding his happiness in a world that contains so much violence and chaos. Great film!

Very true. Especially the musicals! The vibrant colors just jump out of the screen at you!

True " escapism " in those days, + that feel good feeling, that is in absentia today w/all the gratuitous sex, violence, etc..........

End of rant!
