What are your favorite holiday movies/specials?

This time of year starts the annual holiday take-over.
I just wondered what other people have to watch every holiday season?
What movies put you in the Christmas mood?
What t.v. specials make you wish for snow and hot cocoa by a fire?
Maybe they aren't even about Christmas or holidays...
One of my favorite, have to watch at Christmas time movies, is Serendipity.
Also, a strange one but perfectly me, The Nightmare Before Christmas.

So what are your favorites and why do they mean so much?

It A Wonderful Life. It just has all of the elements that it takes to make such an awesome movie!
A Christmas Story. A leg lamp, crazy dogs, a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time, a pink bunny suit. What more could you ask for?!

I was going to list some of those too! They definitely remind me of my childhood.

I really like to watch The Never Ending story around Christmas. As well as Love Actually which is totally corny but hilarious and just gets me right in the mood for the holidays. I usually try to watch only Christmas related films all of December (up until the actual days of christmas cause then its the families choice).

It's a family tradition to watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.... it's so much like our family in real life, it's hilarious.
But I am also a bit partial to Elf.
And The Holiday (with Jack Black, Jude Law, etc.)

Three Days

White Christmas. I know it's old but it's traditional. Definitely hot cocoa worthy!

Santa Claus is Comin' to Town. The one with Fred Astaire narrating and singing the songs. It is the perfect Christmas, movie. Who can resist the miser brothers?
