They should really respect other people's stuff much better.

I won't lend anyone my books in case they crumple or tear them. Or bend the spine too much.

Oh, that would drive me crazy! I don't mind what people do with their own books, but if it's my book, I don't want anyone deciding what kind of shape my book should be in!

I can't stand it when people bend their own books let alone my own. I just don't see a reason for it. dogeared pages drive me up the wall and it bugs me to see a book turned over with the pages laid open. Maybe I'm a little OCD about it but there are so many things that can be used as a bookmark. It probably goes back to my childhood love of books and how I always wanted my to look like new for as long as possible.

That's pretty cool, ALynn.

I absolutely HATE it when my dad takes my books and folds it over (If it's a softcover book) or if he doesn't have a book mark and dog-ears it.

My dad does that too. I also hate when people bend it in half to read only one page at a time.

I can't stand when a person bends or cracks the binding. I loaned out 3 of my favorite books to a roommate in college and she gave them back in horrible condition. If they didn't have such sentimental value I would probably replace them.

It makes me mad to see books in that condition at the library. I want to shout at people... but then I'd be the crazy person at the library shouting about book care.
