Mood Color Shirt

Post by bluemel4 »

Have you ever wished you had a shirt that color coded to your mood? I wish I could communicate non-verbally when I want to be left alone or when I am approachable. Universal signs around the neck would be nice too... but I think people could get on board with a color mood ring type shirt. Then we'd all just need to agree on what color meant what universally.

Thanks @suzy1124. When I told my husband my wonderful idea he rolled his eyes and told me I need to work on my mean face. I don't have one. People just come up to me and tell me their secrets or troubles. Worse they lock me into conversation I am too polite to get out of.

I have my masters in school counseling and I just could not handle the sad stories the kids were bringing in. I kept taking all of emotions home with me. It became too much and I had to look for another career choice.

There's a traumatic brain injury in which the victim starts seeing colors associated with people, similar to auras, that the person can learn to translate in a psychic sense. I'm not making this up, but I don't know much about it. If you're interested in this sort of thing, you might like the nonfiction Hallucinations by Oliver Sachs. He writes about hallucinations across the whole spectrum, not just delusional ones, but tricks of the eye, rare brain illnesses and injurites, etc.

If I'm feeling paranoid and I "project" it by deliberately shying away from people, but then someone like a store employee comes up to me and says something like, "Can I help you find something?" I get pretty upset about that. It's like, really. Respect someone's body language.

I think that there are too many days that people would just wear a regular shirt that was the same color as the leave-me-alone color, just to not be bothered every day!

LOL! I would want it to be the stay away color when I am leaving my house and then change to a more open to conversation color when I am in a store.
