Credit card,Debit card, or Cash?

Post by suzy1124 »

How many credit cards do you own?...

Are you in debt?...

Personally, I prefer debit cards for the obvious convenience w/ out accruing debt... 8)

We had some bad credit card debt several years ago but worked our butts off to get rid of it. Now we have none! It is either cash or debit cards. I too love the convenience of the debit cards.

It is sooooooo easy to get sucked in by those evil little plastic rectangles. We have never regretted swearing off those things.

Same here. I was in debt up to my ears with the damn things at one time. I learned the hard way. I use a debit card for the ATM machine to get pesos. Not many places here are set up for debit cards, I use cash.

Thats for sure. Some places actually prefer you to use cards. They act like they dont know what cash is. Ive heard that some of the houses of commercialized romance in Ti Juana take credit cards. I wonder how one would enter that in their bank book.

Never had credit cards, they frighten the life out of me. Debit card yes. I suppose it's because I grew up in an era where, 'if you 'aint got it, go without, or save up and buy it'. Today I'm afraid it's all too easy to sink into debt.

I just graduated last year, and I'm in sooo much debt...besides the obvious student loans.
I just have one credit card, but I used it a lot at the end of summer when all my part-time job money had run out but I still needed to buy things for school. Also I'm still paying off the plane ticket I took to come to Japan and start working...
But here in Japan, it's the complete opposite! No one even knows what a debit card is or how it works. Only really big chain stores will take credit cards. Everyone here uses cash, so people withdraw hundreds of dollars at a time. It's really dangerous!

I have a debit card, but I will never in my life get a credit card, loan, or go into debt for things I can't afford. My generation had to grow up and become adults in the aftermath of the Great Recession. I just hope we'll learn the lessons from our parent's mistakes.
