Have you ever missed a plane, or something else important, because you were engrossed in a book?

Hmm, I don't think so. Unless sleep counts. I've lost plenty of that due to a great book!

Did you enjoy Mr. Mercedes? If so, you will LOVE this book! (...finished it sometime after midnight...)

I did, yes. Stephen King has a knack for drawing you in from the first couple sentences. I thought there were a few too many 'coincidences' in Mr. Mercedes in terms of solving the crime, but the characters were fun and the story entertaining. I need to pick up the new one still. Will make for a great summer read.

Train Stations, five in the past week. Yes, I travel a lot and yes, I'm aloof.

I think I missed a class in high school because I was immersed in the book I was reading. I remember it because it was math class and I had a big test that I had studied for that day. My teacher was understanding and allowed me to take the test but down graded me by 20% because I technically ditched the class.

Good thing she was understanding... I know for a fact that if I did that my teach would literally grill me for ditching the class and mark me for the whole semester. And forget about taking the test, that would have been discussed in PTA or something.

Yikes! I was a bit of a teachers pet so that always helped get me out of trouble.

I have missed many meals because of books. I spend all my money on them and couldn't buy any food.
