Faithfulness and property

Post by Sarah_Khan »

When I was reading The Picture of Dorian Gray I came upon this quote - "Faithfulness! I must analyse it some day. The passion for property is in it. There are many things that we would throw away if we were not afraid that others might pick them up."
Ever since I've read that, I can't seem to get it out of my head. Oscar Wilde has definitely opened my mind and changed the way I think of fidelity now.
I'm curious to see what other people think of this quote. Do you agree with Oscar Wilde or disagree? And why?
