We, as a species, seem to have little historical memory. I don't fault us for it, it's simply how we've matured; but it is nice when someone stops and spends a moment either remembering or trying to learn something about those who've gone before and what they sacrificed to make sure we could carry on.

To my uncle Bill (Battle of the Bulge), who never had the chance to love, have children, carry on... rest in peace.
