I was wondering if it's okay to mention the book's price in its official review.

Thanks!

It's never occurred to me to mention price in a review, although I have taken it into consideration for rating purposes. Unfortunately, I once reviewed a poorly written book that was steeply priced (almost $30) and I wanted to make certain that nobody wasted their money!

I have mentioned the price once or twice before in my reviews. If you do, you might want to add that the price you stated is the current price and might change. If the book is really good and the price is a real bargain (example - 99 cents), it's a nice thing to include so that members might be more inclined to order it. On the flip side, as Livre mentioned, some books are not worth the high price tag. I have reviewed "nothing special" types of books where I was amazed that the price was $15 for an indie Kindle book.

I think it should be apparent from your review if the book is good enough to warrant whatever price it is. Plus people have different definitions of what's cheap and expensive, so adding the price tag might be a bit superfluous.

I think price matters way more than people assume. Paying 99 cents for a good book compared to paying 9.99 for a book of equal literary value are hugely different, yet in so many cases people judge them on a perfectly even scale and even look down on the cheaper books on principle.

It reminds me of the Simpsons episode when the sign over the mall said "Our prices discriminate because we can't"
