If Roadmap to the End of Days is a book of the day, do I need to write a review? Also, since I am new, I haven't been able to select a book to review. So how do I write a review if it says that in order for me to be able to write a book blurb, I have to have 5 posts.

No, you don't have to write reviews on the Book of the Day. You don't have to start topics. You can just post to existing topics.
