Inequality

I have read several books and watched movies that displayed acts of inequality in one way or the other .Even growing up we get told that everyone can't have it all together, the same ,equally .So I believed it and I still do because there are variations in every aspect from one individual to the other .I hope someone gets my point .My question now is ' Is there a scientific reason behind inequality :!: :?:
