2 poems
He yawns and stretches
Curls into a ball
Snoozes some more
Kneading his giant paws
Swaddled in blankets
Owning the loveseat
Surveys his kingdom
He summons me
I am honored
To be of service.

Inspiration by ML
Silence comforts
Phone is silent
Jays are squawking
Sun is shining
Rain is pending
Cats are purring
Coffee fragrant
Shawl is soothing
Fire is snapping
Pen is silent
Mind is churning
Sigh is forming
Focus dwindling
Will prose now rise
From verdant fields ?

- Latest Review: "No Poverty Between the Sheets" by Pauline Kiely

As for the second one, I think the ending was an interesting choice. To make it work better, perhaps you could add a little more to the rest of the poem, varying the lines a little more, though not too much. I enjoyed the fact that you wrote the poem as the passing of a moment, and it should be kept that way.
I'm glad to have read your work, mland2000. Have any more poems? I'd love to see them. I'm quite the poetry buff... I'm always ready to devour something new.
