Saw it in Eason's ... love the way they have the cover kinda battered - very like my copy was way back when.StephenKingman wrote:For any members interested in quality poems, the book "Soundings" has been republished after a somewhat troubled history: It was the standard poem book for the Leaving Cert English syllabus from 1969 right up to 2000. It features works from the likes of WB Yeats and TS Eliot, i was too much of an impatient brat to appreciate the book back in my teens but after leafing through a few poems the other day i feel its only right to expose this book again and hopefully it will get a second chance...

Yeah they had it in the Book Centre in town, i think they could only make copies of one original so thats why they look a bit battered, but its still charming. I actually got my copy off my 42 yr od brother, and it was covered in handwritten notes from the guy that he got it from!Fran wrote:Saw it in Eason's ... love the way they have the cover kinda battered - very like my copy was way back when.StephenKingman wrote:For any members interested in quality poems, the book "Soundings" has been republished after a somewhat troubled history: It was the standard poem book for the Leaving Cert English syllabus from 1969 right up to 2000.
