Can you freestyle?

When you write poetry, do you write it about as fast as you regularly type or speak?

I don't usually write poetry, but when I do I take a lot of time and make many edits and changes. Of course, I'm not especially talented at poetry.

i kinda suck at poetry.

i like to kid that im lyrically inclined and can flow like a faucet, but in actuality i may have alot less skill then i let on...still its still fun to pretend i have skills i dont posess. but yea sometimes i can think of the words i want to put on paper faster than i can write them

I could probably remove an appendix hanging from the rafters blinded better than I could write a poem. No seriously, last time I spent four hours trying to write ten lines of a poem. I guess it comes down to practice and experience, which I haven't had much of.

I can usually write a first draft pretty quickly, but that will be after thinking about it for hours anyway...don't you think part of the beauty of poetry is the time taken over each individual word? Otherwise...it's just a little bit of prose in short lines.

I generally get on poets.com when I am waxing poetic. It is such a great release for me. I ramble for a bit but try and make sense of what I am thinking and feeling.

Wow... Freestyle writing is very difficult for me to do. I sometimes think a sentence to death before putting it down. I love to write poetry, but my work doesn't happen very quickly... The shortest time I've spent on a poem is around forty- five minutes or so... Even incredibly short poems take awhile for me... I'm a compulsive editor...

No, I sadly can't freestyle. I have to put a lot f thought into it, it doesn't just come to me.

Personally, I'm horrible when it comes to freestyling. I'm a deep thinker, so much to where I tend to over think. Freestyling or speaking freely comes from the heart, no time to calculate or sensor words. It's unfiltered, straight from the heart, off the top, "real talk". Freestyling can tell you a lot about yourself. Some may disagree and say "it's not that serious", were all entitled to our opinions, but it's a fact that there is power in words.

It varies sometimes words come fast, sometimes slow. And if either way produces good or bad poetry varies as well.

I usually can make a rough draft in a freestyle way but I almost always go back and doctor it up, so I really don't know if thats truly free-styling.

I like freestyling a lot, but it can really have varied results. Sometimes the freestyle will be awesome and sometimes it's complete crap.

Gosh no, I'm sort of bad at poetry, but I wish I could freestyle well.
