AI poems lack the essence of poetry

Poetry is best described by Wordsworth as "the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings".
In his book Candida, Bernard Shaw said that poets are those who "talk to themselves out loud and the world overhears them".
AI poems lacks this essence of internal monologue, powerful feelings, and moreover the poetic cadence, despite having a rhyme scheme and meter.
In short, it lacks the human touch

You're absolutely right! AI lacks the depth of inspiration. Human composed poem will forever standout.

Though, AL may seems as if it is good but as for me I prefer to compose my poems myself because my poems resonates with my present situation.

I compose my poems myself but AI seems helpful in places where I can describe a word but can't find the correct word. However, generating whole poem with AI isn't appealing. Their tone is always the same.

I absolutely agree with you. There is no emotion or human feeling.

Yes, AI poems are mechanical(duh). I typed in Google Bard once to write a poem about moon in the style of Shakespeare and Keats. The result I got had the lexis of the poets but not the essence. There was no spirit in the lines.

The bast part about poetry is that the supposed 'randomness' of the language has an internal structure. AI, when it tries to copy this randomness, fails because it doesn't understand how to make it's randomness coherent. I call it randomness, because poetry so often uses language that seems incomprehensible at a first glance. For example, comparing a house to a person, personifying the concept of tragedy, or giving silence a name (all examples taken from real poems.) AI doesn't understand that, it cannot conceptualise that in the way a human can! AI may take over other aspects of life, but it can never replace artists & poets, & human creativity.
The poems I mentioned here are:
What My House Would Be Like If It Were A Person
BY DENISE LEVERTOV
Tiptoe Lightning
BY ELIZABETH WILLIS
The Name of that Silence is These Grasses in the Wind
BY JJJJJEROME ELLIS
Just in case anyone wants to give them a read. I highly recommend all three

Thank you for educating me. There's always something new to learn around here. I didn't realize AI poetry existed, but, of course it does. Am going off to read some and see how it compares to real poetry!

I don't think so .Quite to the contrary.Artists are becoming fearful of AI because it can be used to create unbelievably nice image and poetry truly out of this world
