This is the End of Me

Post by groove »

This is the End of Me

Nothing as vast as the clear blue sky
Nothing as vivid as the deep calm sea
But as the lonely wind blows in between,
This is the end of me.

Nothing like the sound of a friend's laughter
Nothing like the smile from a child's glee
But like the tired clown who will never be found,
This is the end of me.

I tried to live
To take and to give
To bury the past and attain some hope
Instead there was so much more
suppressed deep beneath that floor
That I can never cope
with myself anymore

Nothing as beautiful as your soulful brown eyes
Nothing as pure as what is in your heart
Thank you, my friend, for staying till the end
But nothing -
can stop me from breaking apart

This is the end when I can no longer pretend
This is the end of reality
This is the end of what I am
This is the end of me

So stab me in the back, and shoot me in the eye
I know it is very selfish of me
But I've never been more certain
of why
I want to die
For I know that I will never be
