Best poem quotes

Post by Alexa12345 »

Do you know any good quotes that you learned from poems? Or maybe you have some yourselves?

Here's one that I really like:

"To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour."
William Blake - Auguries of Innocence

This excerpt from Voltaire's Poem on the Lisbon Disaster always stays with me:

And can you then impute a sinful deed
To babes who on their mothers' bosoms bleed?
Was then more vice in fallen Lisbon found,
Than Paris, where voluptuous joys abound?
Was less debauchery to London known,
Where opulence luxurious holds the throne?
