1. How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?

I have written eight published novels. I'm about to finish my ninth. Since each is completely different from the others, I have a few favorites by category. All the Targets is my geo-political thriller. It has the most twists and action. Nekkid Lake is a Gothic novel set in northern Vermont; it has my favorite characters. The Lost Testimony of Bones LeBeau reveals the real motive and plot for both Kennedy assassinations. It is a novel because it is unhealthy to challenge the Warren Report.

2. What do you do when you aren't writing?

I write screenplays (5 so far) and songs (a couple dozen recorded so far), some of which I sing (surprisingly tolerable). I was an attorney in Fort Lauderdale for 45 years. I don't write courtroom dramas, but I get the legal bits right. My wife and I travel to archeological sites in Egypt and México.

3. Let's discuss your book Holler Gals. Can you give a brief synopsis for those who aren't familiar with it?

Three high school classmates (Amalie, Rachel and Jessie) who remained and married in the isolated rural town of Coal Springs, West Virginia continue their close friendship and that of their husbands. When one acquires a small farm, the three convert the barn into a spa and entertainment venue for their group. All is well until the local Tavern (that's its full name) features topless dancers. The three wonder if they could do that and decide to find out. Each will enter a contest somewhere far from Coal Springs. At one, they meet Yrina, a Russian who stars in low-budget films made in Pittsburgh backed by the Russian Mafia. This changes their lives.

4. What inspired you to write this story?

Holler Gals is the result of an intellectual challenge to shine a light on the forgotten young married women who do not live in New York or Los Angeles—who are not corporate executives or spies.

5. Of the three young wives in the novel, which one was your favorite to write?

Amalie, who had reservations about their plans, but went along.

6. Do you have a favorite scene or perhaps even a favorite line from this book?

When asked how she came to America, Yrina says she "befriended" a movie producer in Moscow. When asked to elaborate, she replies "I befriended his brains out."

7. Was there a message that you wanted to convey through the book?

To paraphrase Rachel, it doesn't matter where you live anymore, as long as you are comfortable and can afford to travel. This is becoming truer every day.

8. What's next for you? Are you working on any books currently?

I am writing a sequel to His Majesty's Posse, the story of an assassin called Six for a secret agency of the British government and his minder Fiona.

I like to end with lighter questions.

9. Do you play music while you write? If so, what’s your favorite?

I cannot listen to music while writing. I love music, but find it too distracting.

10. If you had to describe yourself in just three words, what would those be?

Curious. Determined. Survivor.

11. What are your favorite books to read?

I prefer suspense fiction that doesn't get bogged down. Michael Crichton was the best of them. Ken Follet and Nelson DeMille are other favorites.

12. What do you enjoy most about writing?

The thrill of discovering what comes next. My characters react to situations I throw at them. Once created, they cannot act out of character. The satisfaction comes from seeing how it all comes out. I never aim for a specific conclusion. They characters provide it.
A book is a dream you hold in your hands.

The warren commission report headed by former chief justice Earl Warren. The report pushed forward the notion that Oswald was the lone assassin despite evidence to the contrary It seems we shall never get to the bottom of this awful murder and it has borne numerous conspiracy theories
