I've never heard of the biblical story of Samson and Delilah. I think I would pass on this one, simply based on the fact that it's a graphic novel. I did download it for free on Kindle so maybe I would skim it sometime for the art aspects. Regardless, lovely review.

What a great review. The author seems to be intelligent to manage to spin the original Bible most popular story of Samson and Delilah. Although I am not interested in reading the stories of God twisted and turned around.

I've read and heard Samson's story so many times. However, I think this has the most intriguing twist to it. I'd love to read this book. Very interesting.

This graphic novel combines an intriguing story with great artwork. It has the Biblical character, Samson, as well as, Hercules, the ancient gods, and giants. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

I'm actually not really familiar with these biblical figures so I don't think this book is for me. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. great review!

In the Official Review: Child of the Son Complete Edition by Michael Van Cleve, the various aspects of the book are well-described! The topics and sub-topics of the story have been amply focused on! I like the way the review ends!

This book depicts another creative way to review Bible stories, particularly about Samson. My imagination was awaken after reading the review. I do look forward to seeing how the author pulled this feat off. Great review!

I can't tell you how much Samson story has changed me in so many ways until now. I was thinking of purchasing this comic book version for my Sunday school kids. However, the depiction of nudity is the turn off. Yes the Bible is explicit in some stories but this comic book? Nope when you are planning to read to children.

From the surreal depictions of ancient gods and giants, to the colorful scenes of sacrifice and nudity, this one certainly sounds like a real treat for the mind and eyes! Thanks for your helpful insight.

I am not religious, and I do not read graphic novels, so I was not at all interested in reading this collection of comics. However, I decided to give the first comic "Issue One" a shot, and I have changed my mind completely. First, the artwork is simply phenomenal (do not be deceived by the simple cover), and second, it does not appear that this is a Christian story at all. It seems that the author simply selected Samson as a hero, as one might select Apollo without subscribing to Ancient Roman religious beliefs, so this collection could most likely be enjoyed by mature Christians and non-Christians alike.
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

I have little objection to the merging of deities into a single mythology, but the sheer arrogance portrayed by Hercules in the comic was very off-putting, not to mention the gore. I think I'll be skipping this one. Thanks for the review.

Though I'm quite conversant with the story of Samson, getting to know another comic version is also good. But I'll pass on this one. Thanks for this review.
