I doubt billionaires will admit to using the methods enumerated. We all wish to become wealthy, billionaires even. But there's a reason someone coined the term "filthy rich."Jessacardinal wrote: ↑16 Apr 2019, 12:58 I enjoyed reading your witty review of this intriguing book! The idea of someone deciding to pretend to be something they're not and then writing a book about how to do it is nothing short of brilliant. I am curious if the author has taken his own advice and increased his financial portfolio by exercising the methods discussed in his book.

A very good self-serving rule, that is. I hope the book reaches the right people. Who knows it can be a catalyst for much-needed change? Hope springs eternal.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I'm sure whatever the losses are, they can be easily recouped.gen_g wrote: ↑17 Apr 2019, 05:54Wow, wow, wow! That's ridiculous! However, is that before or after the divorce?Miriam Molina wrote: ↑17 Apr 2019, 05:27
Thanks for your sweet words, gen_g! We do need to laugh more often.
Did you know that Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, is expected to be the world's first trillionaire? How's that for income inequality?![]()

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The gap between the rich and the poor is widening even as we post. Very sad indeed.

It has political overtones, but has so much more. The illustrations are spot-on. It's a quick read, but its messages will linger.Kelyn wrote: ↑17 Apr 2019, 16:17 Not my usual genre, but I do sometimes enjoy a good satire and this one definitely sounds like a good one to pick up. Political though it may be, I think the humor may balance out the serious tone of the issues discussed enough to hold my interest. I think I 'll give this one a look! Thanks for the in-depth review!

Thanks, Alice. I wonder if any billionaire will refute Andrew's words.ButterscotchCherrie wrote: ↑18 Apr 2019, 03:50 This sounds like excellently crafted satire, which is an effective way to get people thinking. Given that laughter is good medicine, I think I need more satire in these cynical times. Thanks for a great review!

Thanks for the kind words. I hope I won't be prosecuted as an accessory to libel if a billionaire decides to take offense. I better think of an alibi!Shrabastee wrote: ↑18 Apr 2019, 05:22 Sounds like the author did an excellent job of writing a satire that reveals harsh truth. Equally engaging is your review that certainly piqued my interest. Thanks!

I'm so sorry. It wasn't Lazarus that sinned, but his rich neighbor. Mea culpa!Miriam Molina wrote: ↑17 Apr 2019, 11:43I don't think all wealthy people are crooks, either. I remember Lazarus in the Bible. His sin wasn't one of commission, but of omission. It's sad how Mark Zuckerberg easily earns $1million per hour while an Indonesian Nike factory worker gets $3.50 for a day's backbreaking work. Mark is no criminal.Amanda Deck wrote: ↑15 Apr 2019, 07:39 Time for me to go back and study about income inequality. I have trouble with it's being such a rallying point. Some people have more, a lot more, than others and...so what? Of course, it depends on how the wealthy acquired their wealth but if it's due to corruption, corruption's the problem, not the very fact that some have more.
I do NOT believe it's a given that every single wealthy person is wealthy because he or she is a criminal or crook.

Yes, I wish I didn't find those errors. Apparently, billionaires don't make the grammar rules. LOL!Mbrooks2518 wrote: ↑18 Apr 2019, 11:22 This sounds like a very informative book while also being an enjoyable read. It's too bad about the punctuation and grammar mistakes. Great review!
