Lol. I always wonder why writers insist on giving us badly written erotica. Just set the mood and our imagination will do the rest for ya.

Even though the author was quite descriptive in Marcellus and Catrin's love-making, at least there were not very many scenes.

I agree with the consensus that some of the lines mentioned above were definitely cringe-worthy. I think that the author should have just put those scenes into adult language in order to take the mysticism out of it. I agree with the woman that said that the author should have disregarded those sex scenes.

I agree. When I see sex scenes described like that, it makes more uncomfortable than when they are described with normal words. I know the author was probably trying to romanticise it but sex is just sex.

I did cringe at the sex scenes. The flowery prose was hard to stomach with a straight face in addition to the fact that there were moments I wasn't quite sure of the logistics of things as they were described.

I guess I am different. I did not mind the words the author chose. I felt the details helped add to the scene. I thought they were strange at first, but I liked them the more I read. At times they seem off, but love making isn't always the same. For a book that's placed in the past, I thought the words chosen fit well. :)

I don't think erotic scenes are necessary to the flow of tne story.

To me adult content in story is not necessarily required and if it is there then it should be written in well way to engage readers

I skipped over them, but I tend to do that with most books. Not a lot of authors have the skill to write a tasteful erotic scene.
I find sometimes that the characters lose credibility when the author features them in erotic situations.

That is good to know. So many authors tend to overdo it when it comes to love scenes. Too many dilute the story, in my opinion. Especially if they're not well-written.

This is probably a good policy. I've had a good laugh at plenty at love scene in books I'm otherwise fine with.

This was adult enough, I wasn't bothered by the flowery language. The bleeding on the pelt grossed me out though.

I agree I don't like when authors try to make it fancy. Make it interesting, yes, or even different, but stop it with the literary fluff.

I hate erotic scenes in books - that are a bit creepy. That is just my personal thing.

I have always hated erotic scenes in books. They always end up seeming so silly and really ruin a serious book for me. If it's not a romance novel, just avoid that type of language! It makes the tone of the book very confusing for the reader.
