Thanks for this review. As a big fishing enthusiast, I dived straight into the sample book with great interest and wasn't disappointed. The descriptions are so intense and vivid and Sophie's feelings so aptly described, that in fact, there were times I wondered if this book was partly auto-biographical. For me, however, I feel that the content of the story - five women and the development of their friendships may not be quite the book that would hold my interest for too long. All credit to the author for an impressive piece of work.

I enjoyed your review, and while a book about fly fishing seems off-putting, I think that the other elements might be enough. I like a book about the importance of relationships. Thanks for the review!

Thank you for the well written review. The 4 out of 4 starts rating seems justified based on how you describe the book. I like how it is 5 women who are all bonded together over their love of fishing which is traditionally more male dominated. Sounds like a great story :)

Very good review. I agree with you that the reader feels like they are on the journey with each woman. I really liked how she introduces each woman with their own chapter. Thank you again for the review!

Like the saying goes what a man can do a woman can do better... The real sisters is a nice book, the writer took her time to elaborate more on the characters which would make you think you are really with them when reading the book, about the fly fishing who said it isn't a woman's sport... Once again nice book

I added this book to my not interested in reading shelf because I am not into fly fishing. Love the bond between the girls though.

I like stories about women who participate in activities that are typically male dominated. I find it inspiring. And I like that's there is a group of women who bonds over fly fishing. Thanks for the review.

For me subject matter chosen by author for this book is rather unappealing. I can see anything peaceful in any kind of fishing, no matter genre, race or occupation, but I am sure with this opinion I am in the minority))

I did not find the cover for the book to be attractive and inviting, so, I probably would not have chosen to read the book. Having read the review and the sample, I found the book to be nice, but I still will not read it entirely because it focuses on the flying fish sport, and since I am not much of a sporty person, I might not understand some of the things they talk about. But I do think one can learn a lot about these women's personal challenges. Thanks for an interesting review.

Outdoors, fly-fishing, bonding despite the age difference and different backgrounds. Sounds like a book to relax with. I like that it was properly edited. Congratulations to the author for winning BOTD.

I enjoyed your review very much. Where I live there is a woman who takes groups of women who have survived cancer to fly fish. I nearly signed up but didn't because of the "catch-and-release" aspect. It doesn't work for me, but I appreciate that you grew to see it as a useful metaphor. I likely wouldn't like the book, but I loved your review.

A great book of friendship and sports, with protagonist a group of women with the common passion for fly fishing. For reasons I can’t quite grasp, this book never appealed to be, as much as it sounds really well written.

This sounds like a nice feel-good story for a quiet afternoon. Stories of unbreakable friendship can be motivating. I like the idea of the women forming a bond over fly-fishing. It sounds like a good read. Thank you for your bright and cheerful review. 💕
