Just on chapter 8.

I had a few issues early on with actually getting into it, but that is all changed. I love the world building and Janneke is really interesting. I also like Soren. He isn't like most possible love interests I'm used to, and their relationship is non-traditional in the best ways.

I am around chapter 10.

I get your meaning. The abuse she suffered from that sadistic goblin, Lydian, was a bit too much. It gave me the chills. The book should have come with trigger warnings (sexual assault/rape, torture, body y mutilation). Still, the story flows well and I can't stop reading!

I like Soren as well. The budding romance between him and Janneke is predictable, but I like it still. I got to the part where the origins of Janneke is explained, and it does explain a lot!

The goblins are rather cruel, killing their relatives to inherit them. Still, I like the new twist about the goblins, their abilities, and their culture. The idea of Permafrost is original.

The hunt is exciting and reminds me of the "Hunger Games".

I love the idea of The Permafrost.

And I hate Lydian.

I'm fascinated by the transfer of power at death and how it works.

The concept of the power is fascinating and original.
