I'm torn on this book and this review is helping me at all! Just kidding - sort of! The sample I read really didn't catch my attention to the point that I am ready to add the book to my "want to read" list. But this review makes me want to take a second look!

It sounds like a sweet romance novel. It seems it would be suitable for people who don't like too many graphic intimate scenes. I think I would love to read this one.

Well done on your review. I do love romance novels but that fact is not what is capturing my attention to this book. I can sense the true enjoyment in your tone when speaking of the elegance I which this book is written. And the love and strength of family seems to be presented in this story. I think I want to see where this story takes me. Congratulations on BOTD.

I am not particularly fond of romance novels, but I also read Ironbark Hill by this author. I liked that book and would consider reading this one. The author has a good vocabulary and writes very vivid descriptive passages. I'll stick this one in my maybe pile.

Thank you for the review. The name of the author sounded familiar to me given her previous work, Ironbark Hill, another book that was selected as BOTD. This love story set in the 1950s seems to have the right elements for lovers of the genre, although I am not precisely one of them.

More Heavens than One by Jennie Linnane is the personal journey of Jancy Steinmetz towards womanhood, with all its joys and pains in romance and in dealing with realities in a bigger world. As a reader, I hope that the romantic part of Jancy's life is only a "part" of her story and does not take control of it. There are many sides to a maturing woman. I'm glad to learn from cpru68's review that this novel is eloquently written by Jennie Linnane and with touches of humor despite the serious themes. Based on the Amazon summary, it seems that Jancy will have to come to terms with her infatuation with Uncle Rudy. This is shaping up to be another coming-of-age story from Ms. Linnane with an intriguing and dark romantic twist told through the author's gentle prose. I'll keep this in mind for my future reads.

I love the metaphor of farming as applied to the plot. Thanks for the review! I'll add this one to my tbr list.

The book review helped present the positive points for the novel. It seems this book has well-developed characters and many touching moments. I'm just concerned with the title though. The title may mislead some into thinking this romance novel is more of a religious book about heaven.

I am also not a fan of romance novels, however because of your review, I will read this one. I'm not familiar with the author but find it interesting that she writes in other genres.

From a sampling, this was an interesting romance novel. While this is not my particular favorite genre, I found that the characters were well crafted and the plot was easy to follow. Well done.

I'm reading Ironbark Hill too, and was also surprised to see a romance book by this author. I agree that she's an incredible writer. Thank you for your review, once I'm done with Ironbark Hill I'll read this one!

Forbidden affection and true emotions spilling out? Sounds like an intense read. Seeing Jancy grow up and question family traditions and the strict ways of the Catholic religion does sound like a serious story. However, it's good to know that there is humor in the text, as well. It's good to know that you felt the author wrote with eloquence and grace, and that your attention was captured throughout. Even though you're not a romance fan, I'm glad that you gave this a chance and that you felt it was worthwhile. Glad to know that there were only minor errors and that the read evoked a lot of emotions. Thank you for sharing and glad you enjoyed this one!

This book seems good for its genre. I'm not a huge fan of the genre myself though. The title seems odd for a romance story, but who am I to judge?

Forbidden love in the Australian plains and a tale that watches Jancy grow await the reader. The author of Ironbark Hill, Jennie Linnane, brings us another captivating tale.
