Yes, you did the best you could. However, I read the book before your review. I wish the book itself had come with a disclaimer. I'm sorry for any offense to you.I believe that is where I put the disclaimer into my review without giving away entirely what the 'taboo' relationship was...Not every book is for everyone. I found the theme of this similar to Ironbark Hill which is also written by this author. Did you read that one?
Yes, I read Ironbark Hill. I didn't like that one either. There was no resolution. Everything the main character did that was wrong was magically ok and accepted. There were no consequences for her, or anyone's, actions. Really, she deserved more out of life, but instead she just accepted what she had.
You're right, not every book is for everyone.
