Overall, I loved The Unbound Soul! Haight gives a lot of interesting insights into his practices and why he uses them. I think anyone who enjoys reading about spirituality or religion would enjoy at least parts of this book. However, I would say this is a book that should be approached with an open mind. And I don't mean you should accept everything he's saying right away, but to not go into it with a set mindset.

I really enjoyed reading this book! I loved what Richard L. Haight had to say about the mind and how it can be fooled. The book was full of spiritual insights and thought-provoking events. I would recommend this book to everyone because it makes the reader think about his own life. I think each and every reader can interpret the book differently.

I thought the book was great. It gave me a different perspective on prayer and meditation. Before this reading this book, I was a bit iffy on meditation. I think I might have to give it a try.

I like the central theme of "liberation" that the"unbound" soul conveys and it deserves to be a bestseller.

Hello, I am new to you all so HI!
I found this book overall very enlightening. It was very engaging, but yet inspirational but at the same time humorous. I enjoyed the spiritual teachings throughout the chapters and found myself stopping and trying them out some were relatively easy as everyday life some not so much. I am not sure it is a book my mother-in-law would read, but I certainly enjoyed it and will come back to it to master a few of those exercises.

I could not get into this book. I really didn't like it. His experiences seemed far-fetched and I couldn't relate to it.

It made me reflect on the good or bad choices we make and I actually believe that what this author has written is a mirror for everyone. What I like least about the book is the beginning. I could not really follow the direction of the story until I got to Chapter 1. However, I would recommend this book to anyone who is on the verge of giving up or who thinks life lacks a purpose.
I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it is pretty straight forward and the experience of the author is properly illustrated and full of in-depth meanings.
Thanks a lot for the recommendation. I haven't read it yet and usually i avoid such books but now i think i should give this book a try cause i feel myself on the verge of giving up sometimes.
Thanks a lot.
Thank you for your kind comment, Anna Bellle. Do give it a try. I am sure you will learn or two new things from this book.

I read some good reviews about Unbound Soul and since I am a Bible believer I still recommend this book to read for you to understand the author's own unique spiritual journey. The title is quiet captivating but the content is of course far away from what i am expecting. I give 3 stars.

I liked the way Richard has tried to explain a few concepts in this book. He mentions the term “Isness” and describes it as the only and the everlasting form of existence which is not identified by anything. It is the base of all existence and the foundation of spirituality. I was also quite intrigued by his description of how we should look at our mind; the mind is a device which creates restrictions on our understanding of life around, so we need to look beyond what our minds say.
Richard’s personal life had some instances which were not easy to believe, and personally, I was not quite convinced to believe them. He took part in a raffle and was able to predict the result of the raffle with his spiritual eyes. He also mentions about an instance when he played basketball and was able to put the ball in the basket during each of his attempts, only due to his focus at that time but no prior experience of the game.
I could not understand the techniques of meditation very well even after reading the related text twice. Richard tells to analyze the vision, then analyze the smell, and so on, as part of the meditation which seems quite difficult for me to implement as a layman. Richard also mentions that the physical body is able to choose the food best suited for it and we don’t need to interfere in that. This concept is way over my head.
I would recommend this book to the audience who wish to know a bit about spirituality and do not mind some hard to believe incidents and complicated concepts.
The disappearance of the word "I am" is indeed the highest happiness! :)

I read The Unbound Soul and was expecting something entirely different than what was written. I initially thought he would integrate his use of Bible passages with a believable experience in how his enlightenment unfolded. But most of the time his statements felt hypocritical. I do appreciate the time and effort that the author took to attempt to describe the enlightenment process; however, I found the book to have too many transitions among anecdotes, profound insight, and circular logic. I felt I couldn't engage in this memoir because by the time I adjusted to his writing style, there would be a change up in purpose.

I think the book is overall enlightening. It gave me insights into things about life that failed or never had the chance to see or even think about. However, the second part of the book doesn't really appeal to me. I would give it 3 out of 4 stars. I would, however, not just blindly recommend it since religion and faith are both sensitive topics.

Same here! Before, I regard meditation as something not suited for me who has an attention span of a goldfish. However, after reading the book, I think I might give it a try since it has lots of benefits that I overlooked before. :tiphat:
