Fans of paranormal romances might enjoy this series, but the pages I've read didn't convince me. I was put off by Alex's and Jasper's use of offensive language, Besides, the story didn't manage to trigger emotions despite the fact that Gwen was poisoned and on the verge of death. Thanks for your review, though.

Thank you for the review - it sums up my thoughts exactly. I only read the sample pages, but if I did not know that this was the second book of the series, I would have never guessed it. The flow of the story is excellent and you are given enough background of what happened in the first book to not feel the need to read it first before reading this one. That said, I do want to read the first book as this seems like a very interesting series.

A fantasy romance novel with the description of various imaginary planets seems to be quite an intriguing read for the audience of this genre. Thank you for the review!

It sounds like a very engaging book. It clearly imbibes the story about Adam, Eve and the tree of life in the bible. I could tell that the reviewer enjoyed the read as he get wait for the next series to be published. Congrats to the author for winning BOTD.

The story of Alex and Gwen, especially the search for the cure that Gwen needs, sounds quite interesting and full of adventure. I also like the paranormal aspect of the book.

Bless you writers! Now I got to come to terms with the possibility of a human making a family with an angel for eternity. Imagination at its best. Nice review.

I love paranormal novels, and I like the premise based on the Tree of Life here. I'm not sure if I want to read this book without reading the first book beforehand, so I might have to wait until I'm able to read the first one and then come back to this. Still, it sounds intriguing enough--especially the gatekeeper concept--that I'll put it on my "to read" list. Thank you for the helpful review!

Thanks for a lovely review :) I'm glad that the differing viewpoints of dialogue are written well, all too often this can be the downfall of a novel. I'd love to read this one after I've read the beginning book first.

Genesis (The Infinity Series Book 2) by Bellamy Westbay is a fast-paced, gripping sequel about an angel, Alex, who races against time to access the Tree of Life in an intergalactic quest to save his love, a human named Gwen, from poisoning. The first chapter has immediately hooked me due to Ms Westbay's brisk, straight-to-the-point story-telling style that nevertheless packs in action, thought and emotion in effective measures. Alex's quest to gain access to the Tree of lLife in order to give Gwen immortality is explained on a single page but the story is not unduly hurried and is just at the right pace. There are no meandering thoughts and conversations in the first chapter so the reader gets to dive into the action immediately. This promises to be a thrill ride with a romantic twist and a heroic quest. Alex is risking defying God with his bid to make Gwen immortal. Will God stop Alex? Kudos to the review of 1ditzyrn as it reflects the highly entertaining and engaging style of the book.

Yeah, I think, if you're writing in a genre like paranormal fiction, there's always going to be a risk of becoming formulaic since that's what sells. With that said, your summary makes it seem like there's just enough to make it different in a way that matters. I've never heard of a paranormal book (romance?) that hops planets before, so it sounds pretty interesting. I might pick this one up, as well as the first one.

I'm so glad I landed on this page with your review. I love reading novels with angels, especially fallen angels...I have read so many books about Gabriel, Lucifer, and Greek mythology... All of it is just so majestic and it takes you completely in a different world. Then it gets better when there's romance. I crave these kinda books. I hunt for them in Goodreads :p
And I too love the paranormal genre!
Thank you for this review, I'm hooked now. Gotta read the series!!!

Probably this book is not also for the religious people but then I again I haven't read the book and have no intention of reading it. This looks like it could be a tear jerker and I'm not a fan of such kind.

I like this review though. It is compelling for the readers, informative and helpful. :tiphat:
