The cover of the book provides an adequate image of Alessandro based on the description you offer in your review. The punishing sex scenes remind me of Fifty Shades. However, I liked that series enough to believe I will enjoy this one as well. Thanks for an interesting review!

Yes, you're right. Alessandro was a bit rapey in those scenes, and I wondered about deducting a star. A lot of other stuff was good, though.

Singing gondoliers and moonlit canals are actually real in today's Venice! I'd love to read about a place where I've traveled. Romance isn't my genre, though. Thanks for the expressive review!

I'm definitely keeping an eye out for this book - I've always been intrigued by Venice! I'm glad that the book is a general all-rounder, in terms of pacing, immersion, and development. (Plus, I've learnt a new word today - "larophile".) Thanks for the review!

Yes, me too. Partly from books and partly from visiting. This book does do the city justice. Thanks for reading and commenting!

Your description of the setting heightens the romantic theme of the story. You upped the suspense with the details about the disappearance of the sphere and Sabrina discovering her powers. I enjoyed your writing.

This complex mystery is really engaging. At least this romance story has some substance and is built around some logical and exciting circumstances.Things often get illogical and disgusting when romance is the major theme,i am glad such is not the case here. Thanks for such an interesting review.

Yes, I get fed up with books that get that balance wrong. It was pretty good in this one. Thanks for commenting.

This doesn't sound like a book for me but I enjoyed learning a new piece of vocabulary. I had not heard the term "cicisbeo" before.

That was new to me too - it's actually in the English dictionary! Sabrina found him aggravating, but I thought I could quite fancy that! Thanks for stopping by.
