Has anybody named their children after a favorite character from a book?

I don't yet have any children, but I'll be damned if one of them isn't named Eddard Stark!

Hi, I'm new and after scanning the various topics, I thought this was the easiest for me to make my first post on this forum.

Not after a book but I named my daughter Claire after the song by Gilbert O'Sullivan. She's now 20.

I'm not sure if I was named off Twilight, but my name is Jacob (obviously). And the kids at the school never forget to mention it, haha.

Yep, sorta. My son's name is Christopher Ryan, after Christopher Robin and his dad's best friend, Brian. Everybody calls him Budge, though...we're big on nicknames in my family. :)
How perfectly goddamned delightful it all is, to be sure.

We named our son Tristen which was partially inspired by characters from Legends of the Fall and Tristan & Isolde.

If that is him in the picture then he is very very adorable!!!!!!!!
I don't have kids either but, if I did, I would definitly have a son named after Rhett Butler, and a daughter named after Amelia Earhart.

I once worked with a guy who named his daughter after Charlotte ... the daughter of James Onedin in The Onedin Line if anyone remembers that BBC drama.
I have a niece named Emma but I don't think she's named after the book but as her surname is quite long they needed a short first name!
I know there were loads of Sonya's & Natacha's some years ago when War & Peace was televised.

I quite like Tatyana from Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin.
The movie was stunning. Ralph Fiennes' sister did the cinematography and it is beautiful.

I got chatting to a mum with kids at the grocery store and she called out to her daughter "Ayla!". I was so gobsmacked that I told her that was a character in one of my favourite books and she nodded wildly and said "YES! Clan of the Cave Bear!" I nearly dropped my eggs. I did consider it for my own children very briefly - but with the Aussie accent and the tendency to add 'ay... or hey' to the end of each sentence it was quickly banished. I ended up with Gracie for one of my girls as I fell in love with the little Aboriginal girl from 'Rabbit Proof Fence'.

I cant think of anyone who was named after a book character, but my kids had a guinea pig they named Sam after the song Sam Hall. I used to sing it to them, they loved that song.
