Bighuey wrote:@ Crusher, I saw Roadhouse some time ago, as I remember it was a pretty good show. The original version is good, the storyline is a little different. I liked it, Ida Lupino was a fox. I had immoral thoughts about her.

@ Gannon, dont feel bad. I liked the Charmed TV series. That was a chic flic. Ive got the complete 8 season series on DVD and watch it often. Shhhhhh, dont tell anyone, especially Crusher.
Wait. You mean the Patrick Swayze version was a remake? I've gotta see the original now.
And, uh, yeah..I didn't read that last part. :D

If you watch it, I would love to know what you think of it. I think it got its chicflic status because at heart it is a love story, you will understand if you watch it.
Mmmmhmmmm....well, if it makes me barf, I'll let you know. I can tolerate a love story if the plot's good. For instance, I'm watching "Who's That Girl" right now...
How perfectly goddamned delightful it all is, to be sure.

My favourite movie would have to be "The Usual Suspects", no hang on a sec it would be "Memento", no no "The Last of the Mohicans", or maybe "Inception". I can't pick one, "To kill a Mockingbird" maybe.

Ive got a copy of Last Of The Mochicans, this one had Harry Carey in the lead. I bought it years ago but I never watched it. Its a serial with 12 chapters. There was one version that came out in the 50's with George Montgomery. Didnt they make a new version a few years ago? I think there was a TV version of it too on PBS.

Hey Bighuey I have only ever watched the version with Daniel Day-Lewis. I did not even know that the earlier versions even existed. I recently read the book and there are a couple of differences between it and the movie. Great book, much better than the movie as usual.

I had to watch Memento two times before I got it, it was sure as hell confusing with the back and forth and the 'what the...' but it's a great movie.

I had to watch it twice as well, it is an amazing film. I also love the directors other movies "Inception" and "The Prestige". All three movies are brilliant, especially the first time you watch them. If you have not seen them I highly recommend them.

I didn't know the same director made all three. I have watched Inception which was also really really great (in fact pretty brilliant) but find I cannot dwell too much on the ending otherwise it'll drive me mad :D. The Prestige is also really great....that is the one with Hugh Jackman right? I get that mixed up with The Illusionist.

Yep The Prestige is the movie with Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and David Bowie, Oh how could I forget Michael Caine. I know what you mean about Inception, I have watched it four times and still have arguments with friends about it. Mainly about the ending with the multiple dream levels.

^ Exactly like my brother.
************SPOILER********

At some points he's absolutely certain it was a dream and will go back through the movie to point out why and how, then at other points he thinks it wasn't and again will go back to points that shows how and why.....I mean come on! :?

I just say whichever one you think it is depends on how you look at life but he doesn't want to get into philosophical discussions, he's very literal my brother :D

I love movies where the ending is ambiguous and open to discussion. "Shutter Island" anyone? :D

I might start watching my serialized version tonight. I looked at the cover, it was made in 1932. I just happened to think, there was a tv series of it in the mid 50's with Lon Chaney Jr. Those Mohicans really got around.

I started to watch the serialized version last night, it would have been pretty good but parts were cut out, they tried to put background music to it like 101 Strings and really ruined it.
