Great review this book sounds great. I love the concept of a priest knowing someone is a serial killer and the internal conflict that comes with it. It's a shame that the story lacks suspense as I think that's the foundation of a good thriller.

I like crime and suspense stories. The idea of a Rosslyn Ripper serial killer is intriguing. I'm glad that the two backstories, that of the killer and that of the detective, are easy to keep separated. I'm going to add this one to my reading Bookshelves. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

I love crime thrillers and am very interested in serial killers, so this book sounds right up my alley. My only concern is that I like a robust suspenseful ending, and it seems like this book may not have that.

The review is honest and thorough. I read the first few pages of the book. I liked the way the author has written, but this is not my kind of police procedural.

I read the prologue an excerpt from the first chapter along with the official review of Almost Mortal. I have to say the little that I did read was fast paced and very interesting. There were several different mysteries and storylines teased. Despite the warning that the suspense dies down and the final ending may not be strong, I am still intrigued enough to read this novel.

It's always hard to make both stories in a single book equal or at least similar. Thanks for the honest review.

Sam acting as a detective agent should be encouraging to follow because of his intention to salvage the reputation of the Catholic priest that is in danger. There might be many criminal plots going on in the novel, I hope the plot would be properly fixed to keep readers' zeal active throughout the narrative.

Thank you for your time, what a well thought out review. The author sounds like he has interwoven these two quite well. I'll have to put this one on my want to read shelf. :D

The plot drew me in from the first two paragraphs of your review. Though lacking in ample suspense, it nevertheless sounds like it has potential. Thanks for the review.

The fact that you did not figure out The Rosslyn Ripper until the end is a sign of a well thought out book. It definitely leaves something to be desired!

I love the idea of the author telling this story in two perspectives (one of which is the killer), I can completely understand why you found Rosslyn's POV more interesting, as the notion of it already has me interested!

I read the sample and the review also confirms that this is a good story about an investigation into a serial killer. Sounds interesting in that it is written in the form of two journals and that the writing style is completely different. Sounds like a good psychological thriller as well. An interesting review but I can't decide whether the author keeps us in suspense or not.

From the review,I take this to be a detective story, which usually intrigues me,therefore I am adding Almost mortal to my want to read list. The crime and mystery part of the story must be quite interesting, congrats for making it Book of the day.
