Have your reading habits changed joining OBC?

Yes, I am definitely reading more often, because there are so many great books that I have downloaded and am wanting to find time to read. Also, there are so many great authors and new books that we are exposed to daily by being a member of OBC. I love it

I've only recently become serious about being on OBC, and I've definitely noticed a change in my reading habits. Most of it comes down to the level of attention paid throughout the read to write a review. I've never been the quickest reader, but it takes me three times as long now, which means I'm always adding to my to-be-read without making any headway. Not that I ever made headway before... Lol.

Since joining OBC and especially the review team, I have been reading books much more attentively (What do I like or dislike and WHY? Is the plot well-structured, and how is the writing style? etc.). This also helps my own writing, because I can reflect the things I notice into my own work.

Another thing is that I read some books whose quality is less than average. I would never pick those up or read further than ten pages if it wasn’t for the reviews. And while it isn’t the most enjoyable thing to read a book that is not that good, at least it makes me think, “Hey, even I could do better!”, and gets me back to work =D

My reading habits have changed for the best. Before joining this amazing website, I wouldn't read books very often, though I had so many books I had not read. I think the fact that you're given free books in return for writing reviews on this website has made me want to read more and more. Now I read almost everyday and get to find new books that I'm interested in.

My reading habits have definitely changed - and for the better! I was always an avid reader. I even became an English teacher so that I could share my love of reading with others. However, three years ago, I left my career and stopped reading as much. I feel like finding OBC has reinvigorated my love of reading, and I am very thankful. It is the first time since leaving teaching that I feel excited to read again.

The most important change in my reading habit is that I'm not only reading popular/best-selling/books in booklists. I've come to realise that even first time /obscure authors are awesome. Second thing is my reading is more time-bound and disciplined. I'm taking down notes since I might have to use them to write my review. Earlier I've never done these. Also, I'm reading more, obviously. In 2018 I had read only 40+ books. I joined OBC in Feb 2019 and already my book count has reached 30. I'm also reading other books than in OBC for my bookclub. So I think joining OBC was the best decision I made this year. It's changed my reading habits in many ways and I'm happy for it.
