Does Totos's song 'Africa' makes you feel happy?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

It used to make me smile and jam out but it’s been so over played on the radio lately that now I switch to a different station.

Sure it makes me happy -- happy that Toto is no longer recording any songs. Apologies -- that is a cheap joke from a musical illiterate.

Happy and nostalgic. I'm from South Africa and recently moved to Canada so this reminds me very much of home.

For some odd reason, yes. I don't think I could explain why, though, perhaps it has something to do with the music more so than with the lyrics.

I do feel happy when I hear this song. I first heard it at a school dance, and everyone loved it, and I loved it too. How the song's dynamic and music correspond with each other makes the song that much better.

I love this song so much! Every time I hear it on the radio I turn the volume way up. As I live in South Africa, it makes me think of home.

Yep, there's definitely something about that song that puts me in a happy mood. But at the same time there's something about it that makes me a bit sad, so I guess bittersweet is a better word to describe how it sounds to me.. Still love it though.

Yes! Last season an adult choir auditioned for America's Got Talent and they sang that song. I had chills. It was amazing!

Sometimes it depends. The song can have different meanings at different times to different people. Sometimes it makes me feel regrettable for all of my mistakes, and sometimes it makes me feel so uplifted.
