I believe that we all are unique and in reading the poems throughout his life I was intrigued and it was as if I knew who I was reading about because of the raw emotion that was expressed in each poem throughout the book thanks for the special insight on your life Ian prattis.

The title itself is beautiful and I love that, "every part, wrote an introduction. In those introductions, he explains why he wrote each poem, what inspired him, and what he was trying to achieve by writing it." Which for me makes a great addition to the poetry and easier to understand!

Painting with Words is a powerful collection of remembrances expressed in poetry. “The Vietnam Nam Memorial” brought back the same feelings of sadness and anger that I felt when first visiting the memorial. The insightful review really captures connecting with Ian Prattis’ memories and emotions.

Although I am not a fan of poetry, your review makes this collection sound captivating. I am excited to read and experience poems that enable us, for once, to feel how someone else feels or has felt throughout certain periods of their life. We live in a world where people don't understand each other, their emotions and/or their actions and being able to capture a glimpse of something as precious as this after several generations have lost the ability or curiosity to do so, is a true gift.

I'm glad you enjoyed the themes, feelings, and lessons that are within this collection of poems. It seems the author did a great job in organizing his poems into different sections, as well. I like that the author wrote in a way that you felt he was an old friend of yours and that you experienced a variety of emotions here. It's nice that you also felt a connection to your Greek heritage in one of the author's poems. Wow, you read this twice and want to read it more? That definitely says a lot about how the author was able to portray his message. I am skeptical about the difficulty it is to read some of this collection as I tend to have difficulty in reading poetry in general. However, I'm glad you enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for sharing!

Your review was so thoughtful and very understanding. Your explanation of the book and it's deeper connection makes it very controversial and interesting. I mostly don't read poems but your deliberate and honest response indulges me to pick up this book and start divulging into it. I love each different titles and how it's connected to the writer. Thank you for giving your insights about this book!
