I am pleased to know that Painting with Words by Ian Prattis is written aesthetically. This book is well-edited also. The poems in this book are deeply emotional, and they include the portrayal of the Buddhist lifestyle. I am sure, you have enjoyed reading this book. Congrats to the author on BOTD!

Your review has gotten my interest, so I think that I will be taking a look since it covers points in the author's life.

Wow, the review actually rendered me speechless. Being a big fan of the term, "painting pictures with words" and demanding it in any piece I read in general writing, it's as if my comment materialised right in front of my eyes. I'm literally dying to read this collection; I want to see how the poet made good his title. Thanks for this review, and I hope the poems suit me as well.

This collection seems like the author's autobiography. I like the fact that the poem elicit emotional response from the readers, and that end the end of the book a reader can get to know the poet better. Thanks for this wonderful review!

Each of the select themes for the poems sounds fascinating. Each of them seem to fit a specific mood, such as falling in love ("Speaking of True Love") and depression ("Bittersweet"), which could set the entire book apart from other poem books I have found on this website. I'll have to check it out.

I read the free sample of "Painting with Words" by Ian Prattis. Poetry is a very subjective artform, for both the writer and the reader. As such, not all poetry speaks to all people, and sadly, this poetry did not speak to me. I never felt touched or moved by Mr. Prattis' words or imagery. As a published poet myself, I have often used the phrase, "painting word pictures," but didn't feel that I could ever see or understand the images the author was trying to convey.

Thank you for the review. I've never been into poetry that much so I think I'll skip this one. I'm glad others are enjoying it, though.

I am glad to see that the review is positive! It can be hard to write poetry. Usually I don't enjoy poetry books, but this one feels like one I would enjoy.

Congrats on making BOTD with this good work. I love the way the author made words affect emotions and mind. When poetry doesn't do at least one of these it is not poetry. Nice review.

Indeed, the title merits it content. The emotional background is too strong but captivating. The content of this poetic book represents the nature of human being in a clear and loud words, sometimes screaming the truth. it is incisive and not devoid of redundant imagery. I have issues with the complexity of sentences used and repetition of an idea in other context.

I am not usually a fan of poetry, but after reading your review I am inclined to reconsider my stance on this matter. I also liked that the poet explains a bit of his poetry and what he hopes to achieve with it. The sample pages did not provide any of the actual poetry, but the forward was beautifully written.
