DARK CANVAS

Post by Flyboy »

Has anyone read the new Romantic Thriller, Dark Canvas by Jody Summers? It's about some girl who comes up with the idea of doing paintings by mixing the ashes of the deceased with her paints.

I found it on Amazon and just started it. So far it's great fun.

Yes I did, I thought it was very very good read, I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has not read it yet, but maybe plans too. This was his first novel to be released actually. He went through the Nebraska publishing company (iUniverse, Inc), which is a leading provider of publishing technology solutions for authors. I know he was a weebit jaded with the whole author to agent to commercial publisher thing. This novel reminds me alot of Dean Koontz style of writing. Solid choice Flyboy :)

Star, I just noticed that it is not showing your post as existing. It says 0 replies on the directory.... What's up with that?

Dude! :o That is amazing! Her work is beautiful. I'm planning on being cremated, I want some of my ashes shot into outerspace, the moon maybe :P This would be kinda cool too...I might have to whip that up in the ole will

Funny you should say that Star. I want to be cremated too and the idea of getting dumped out of a plane appealed to me but I've also considered that this might be cool since I heard of it.

Yeah that is pretty cool 8) A little speck of you all over the place

I use to tell my mom when I was a little depressed, punkass child, that if I died before her I wanted to be cremated, and that my ashes be sprinkled all around the house, so she would have to clean up after me one last time :P

Hey Star, did you notice when you read Dark Canvas that this guy is giving some of the proceeds to The National Fibromyalsia Association? What do you think of that?

I think that is wonderful :D So many people suffer in silence with this syndrome. Women and people battling depression generally make up most cases. Sometimes people go years living with the pain..either because they refuse to get it checked out, or their doctor simply overlooks the symptoms. Indeed it disables many. My hat goes off to this man for his generosity. Very noble thing for him to do. :)

This site has some up to date info on Fibromyalsia:
No need to suffer

I saw this post and I was like "WHAT?" That's crazy that someone would paint with someone's ashes. I don't know if I particulary like that idea..."oh hey, yeah, that's mom hanging on the wall there."
