I know it was just not done right. I guess I am just not a fan of cheating or immature characters in novels in general.iced_sunshine wrote: ↑23 Jun 2019, 10:19 It's definitely odd that Cynthia has no friends, like not even one. But what I find more disturbing is the insta love between Cynthia and Sky. I suspect the book was meant to be written that way but I'm generally not a fan of insta love and even when I do enjoy it, it has to be done very well.

Do you think that things would be better if cheating wasn't part of it?

Yes, to me as well Sky was rather stalkerish.vivalatianne wrote: ↑24 Jun 2019, 13:19 Cynthia trusted Sky very easily. Sky's character is very shady.

The oddest thing about that is that there were plenty of opportunities to present her with friends. She has a bunch of coworkers that she could have confided in or, if you're not into bosses being friends with subordinates, she could have been friends with Juliette.iced_sunshine wrote: ↑23 Jun 2019, 10:19 It's definitely odd that Cynthia has no friends, like not even one. The letters were definitely of that nature. "I know where you live but I won't show up so love me"?AntonelaMaria wrote: ↑27 Jun 2019, 01:32Yes, to me as well Sky was rather stalkerish.vivalatianne wrote: ↑24 Jun 2019, 13:19 Cynthia trusted Sky very easily. Sky's character is very shady.

To be fair, Sky is part of the Air Force. With that being said, I do agree with you about thatJanalyn101 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2019, 12:33 I didn’t like how she was a security expert yet, Sky was always one step ahead of her. Add to top it all of with freaking cherry on top he comes tomorrow and tells her that she might be pregnant and what to do because she apparently doesn't know what plan b is or how periods work?!Janalyn101 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2019, 12:33 I didn’t like how she was a security expert yet, Sky was always one step ahead of her. Seriously though. A lot of what was supposed to be romantic just fell flat.

In a different thread someone else pointed out that Cynthia may not have had formal sex education, but the pregnancy thing still boggles my mind, and Sky's lecture definitely didn't make itnseem more romantic.AntonelaMaria wrote: ↑27 Jun 2019, 14:28Add to top it all of with freaking cherry on top he comes tomorrow and tells her that she might be pregnant and what to do because she apparently doesn't know what plan b is or how periods work?!Janalyn101 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2019, 12:33 I didn’t like how she was a security expert yet, Sky was always one step ahead of her. Doesn't have formal sex education? Did someone say that? Really? I just can't believe that... I mean it seems unlikely that 20 something woman doesn't know about periods and that unprotected sex leads to pregnancy. I don't know what the author thought to gain with writing such character with all her traits....so annoying.Nisha Ward wrote: ↑27 Jun 2019, 19:37In a different thread someone else pointed out that Cynthia may not have had formal sex education, but the pregnancy thing still boggles my mind, and Sky's lecture definitely didn't make itnseem more romantic.AntonelaMaria wrote: ↑27 Jun 2019, 14:28Add to top it all of with freaking cherry on top he comes tomorrow and tells her that she might be pregnant and what to do because she apparently doesn't know what plan b is or how periods work?!Janalyn101 wrote: ↑27 Jun 2019, 12:33 I didn’t like how she was a security expert yet, Sky was always one step ahead of her. I mean in mystery suspense action whatever this was supposed to be I didn't really expect a bunch of hearts and flowers moments but this what we got justNisha Ward wrote: ↑27 Jun 2019, 19:35Lol. Not with that exact phrase (I was trying to come up with a way to say it and seemed to have failed?) but I think they were more trying to guess at what the author was trying to do than defending what she did do. I mean, Cynthia does mention at the beginning that she's a country girl and from what I've heard, sex education in the U.S. isn't always good? I don't know since we learn about it as part of biology here.AntonelaMaria wrote: ↑28 Jun 2019, 14:47Doesn't have formal sex education? Did someone say that? Really? I just can't believe that...
