Im picky too, each romance along with other great qualities.
I really tried reading the Matched series, but I never got past book two. I agree with you on the Divergent series though. It really is a good series!

The "Shatter Me" series by Tahereh Mafi is probably my favorite YA series of all time! And, the last book just came out at the end of March, so you can read from start to finish.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer is a book I think I would recommend to everyone. It's indescribable because I could use every word to describe it. It's also just a single book and not a series. I know I sometimes get sick of reading series, so it's really refreshing to be able to finish a story in one book. I don't know what it is that makes me love it so much, but please read it.

I think “I’ll Give You the Sun” is on of the best YA books ever written.

Also you may also like “Girl, Serpent,Thorn” by Melissa Bashardoust.

I also tire of the run-of-the-mill YA stories, so I totally get where you’re coming from! A couple that I enjoyed that stood out from the rest include ‘All the Bright Places’ by Jennifer Niven, ‘Satellite’ by Nick Lake, ‘Mosquitoland’ by David Arnold and ‘The Disasters’ by M. K. England.
