I have not read the book, but I've seen so many positive reviews of this book on OBC. The premise is also interesting, i.e., that the lives of the human and the Echo are connected. I'll definitely read the book once I get a chance to.

You definitely should! If you are short on time, there is also an audiobook that you could listen to while commuting! I really enjoyed it.

I will be honest, the book isn't anything I would normally read; I am not usually a fan of fantasy, but the story had an interesting premise that kept me reading. The parallel universe was intriguing and I thought Will's character was well- developed. I found the book to be darker than expected; not sure I would recommend it to young readers. I would give it a 3 out of 4.

I was surprised at the amount of violence and cruelty. I agree that it should be for young adult readers and up.

I am absolutely in love with the illustrations! They are incredibly well-made, and I believe they encompass the over-all feeling of the book amazingly. Unfortunately, the book is a little young for me, but I think many young readers would enjoy it a lot!

I listened to the audiobook, so I didn't even know there were illustrations! I will have to check it out!

I liked the overall pacing of the book, I loved the murder mystery behind it, and also the save the world thing going on. It also had some humour and mischief that lit the story up. But somehow for me, I read on Amazon that it was "Harry Potter-like" so I got a little too much expectation for this one so I guess i will give it 3 stars.

I think there are some parallels between this book and the Harry Potter series, but I agree that they really shouldn't be compared that closely.

I really enjoyed this story, even though it has its flaws. My rating for the book is 3 out of 4 stars. I think the author did a wonderful job of crafting a unique story and world that really captures the reader's imagination. I thought her descriptions of the world were really well done. I was disappointed about the number of errors, but most of them were minor, and they weren't too distracting. I also felt like some of the characters, like Dew Pellucid, could have used some more development. Overall, it's a really great story that I would recommend to people!

I also would have appreciated some more character development, especially for Dew Pellucid. I think there was an opportunity to make a really interesting character there, but the current writing fell a bit short of it.

I have just started reading this, although this is not my usual genre. I have to say the plot itself is intriguing. I just notice that the dialogue is sometimes difficult to follow and abrupt. I love the illustrations though.

I felt like some of the dialogue felt cut off to me. Almost like there were some lines between characters that were implied instead of written out. It made the story seem a little unpolished to me.

I thought this was a great book. I personally love fantasy type books so I was hooked. Plus, the fact that you're on your toes till the end of the book guessing who the main villain is made it fun. What I liked least of the book is that I listened to the audio version. The audio version was great with all the different character voices but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I were able to read it and really soak it in. I would definitely recommend this book to any fantasy lover. I gave this book a rating of 3 out of 4 stars.

I really enjoyed the audiobook version personally, but I agree that I would have enjoyed reading it more. Apparently the illustrations are beautiful! I feel like I missed out a bit.

From what I've read so far, it seems like the kind of fantasy novels I tend to go for. Made for kids, but still enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this book. Sometimes I got confused with all the different groups and characters. But after going back, reading the explanations again and seeing how some of the random characters tied in, it all made sense. I honestly really loved the story and there were times the writing or explanations didn’t flow well, but then you would hit a spot where the writing was funny and so vivid, it made up for it all. Plus the illustrations were gorgeous.

I agree with you. I ended up rereading the book halfway through and it made so much more sense the second time.

Actually i haven't read the book but I've the reviews and it seems quite interesting. I like the boy's bravery. Going there in an uncertain dark world to look for his missing sister is really brave.

I liked the whole book. The story is really good. I always like science fiction. So this was a perfect book for me. It deserves 4 out of 4.

Pellucids writing style seems very choppy and wierd. It took a while for me to "get into it". And even by the end I still struggled to fully grasp what she was trying to portray at times.

Did not really enjoy the book but to be fair, fantasy isn't really my genre. The illustrations were nicely done and the writing style was alright as well.
