My Life by Elena is a modern-day fictional romance novel written by E.D. Massey. Published in June 2019, the story is the first in a series which features themes including romance and self-discovery. At 229 Kindle edition pages, this novel is one that can comfortably be read in a few sittings but leaves the reader longing to continue the series. The main character in the story is Elena Kyle, a young, professional executive woman who comes home to the shock of a lifetime when she discovers her world rocked sideways when her girlfriend leaves her with no suitable explanation other than she has met someone else and decided to break up.

Due to Elena being distraught over her breakup, she finds herself dedicating her time fully into her work to keep herself sane. While discovering an app that includes a chat feature, Elena meets two fascinating new friends who begin to help her in a healthy healing process. Meeting Karl, a handsome computer geek, allows Elena the chance to discover what true friendship consists of. Meeting Jaclyn, however, gives Elena a taste of love which she has never felt before. When offered an opportunity to relocate for a new career, Elena is elated at the opportunity, but also frustrated with the thought of losing what she has only just begun to find.

Elena's character emerges tremendously throughout the novel, allowing readers an opportunity to observe her grow from a confused and self-conscious girl to a determined and confident young woman. Although Elena is faced with challenging decisions throughout the story, I consider My Life by Elena to be a light-hearted read that could be enjoyed by many.

Due to careful editing for grammatical and spelling errors, I was able to read the story smoothly and without hesitation. The conversation between characters flowed easily, causing the characters to have a natural interaction with one another. I appreciated the author's ability to allow the relationships to form seamlessly, as to not cause them to feel forced.

My Life by Elena was an enjoyable story that I could easily recommend to readers who enjoy romance, but also mainly to those who are able to enjoy a story with multiple sexual orientations. The story does include some explicit sexual scenes and language, which may not be suitable for all readers. I'm pleased to rate My Life by Elena 4 out of 4 stars. The presentation of character development was exceptional from all angles and I particularly appreciated Elena's determination in her workplace. While it was clear from the beginning that she was a hard worker, Elena takes everyone by surprise when she continues to show everyone what she is capable of. With a cliffhanger ending that left me longing for more, I am already looking forward to resuming the journey.

Your review really sells the book. I like that the author explored multiple sexual orientations, it is a topic most writers shy away from. I'm curious to know more about Elena's life. Thanks!

This sounds like a fairly light read, but I am glad that the author chose to represent characters who have different sexual orientations; inclusivity is always an attractive feature. Thanks for the wonderful review!

This is a great review! Romance novels aren't usually my thing so I think I will pass for now, but it sounds like a charming and well-written book. Cheers:)

Romance of this type isn't something I read. I'm glad you enjoyed it and that it was edited well. I'll be skipping in spite of the good character development. Thanks.

It's not very often that I come across books with LGBT characters. I'm not sure that I would read it myself, but I'm glad they are becoming more available.
