I just finished it today, actually. In the beginning it was a little hard to follow since so much happened, but once I got the hang of what was going on I actually loved the book. Toward the end of it was the most action and I read the last 4 hours of the book this morning lol

Finished it just in the nik of time! I was also confused at the beginning but I sort of got used to the writers style by the end. What would you rate this book?

I wish I could read for 4 hrs straight! Haha! Kids...

I liked the story. It was a adventure thriller which was really very intriguing. The author used some excellent narrative throughout the story and some sense of humor. The problems faced by the author felt real and relative. Full marks to creativity and imagination to the author.

I read this book last year and loved it. I would recommend this book to the preteen crowd who love adventure.

I enjoyed reading it. Pellucid's writing style is very fun to read. I love her use if figurative language throughout, but I also think it could have had better imagery and the characters could have had clearer, bigger, personalities.

I reviewed the audio version of this book. I have it 2 out of 4 stars. Some parts were so choppy I had a hard time following. Will's character development went pretty well though, and the narration was spot on.

It's a really good world concept and story idea, but I found it really hard it get into. The tone is intense from the start, but it's also very heavy. Maybe it's just bad editing. In the past I've pushed through books with bad editing, but those got me invested in the story and world concept so quick that it was only a minor annoyance, and besides that, the tone was one of adventure, not of dreary obligation.
"The Crystilleries" had too dreary a tone for me to want to stick with it, and maybe that's because of the themes, but that doesn't make me want to keep reading it. I would only recommend to someone who wants some really deep-seated meaning, but then, there are other books I would go to for that anyway.

I love the magic world. I liked the creation of the two worlds-mirror and the creativity of the words used that give it a specific meaning. Some phrases had a delicate and inspirational outline, such as

In the breathless silence, even the breeze seemed to hold its breath.

- I liked this one very much.

Unfortunately, personally, I couldn't connect to the emotions of the characters and feel their adventure. Therefore, I considered that 3 out of 4 stars would characterize my experience with this book. But overall, the journey through Echoland was interesting and delightful.

I read the book, but I felt that there was a lot of telling and not enough showing. I gave this book 2 out of 4 stars. I felt that the pacing was too fast making some parts of the book feel disjointed, especially between chapters. I think that the story is interesting, but it might be helpful for Pellucid to slow down and allow the reader to actually get to connect with the characters. I really believe that there is enough story that this could turn into a book series, specifically a trilogy.

I enjoyed the book, once I figured out the rules of the two worlds. I appreciated that instead of explaining everything in the exposition the author allowed the reader to learn with the protagonist. I gave it 4 out of 4 stars.

Overall, after reading the novel and listening to the audiobook, I thought the concept was fairly original and loved the way the book was put together. I thought that some parts were too deep for the subject matter, but I really loved the illustrations.

I would definitely recommend this book. From what I have learned from the literature I have been reading. I love the fact that the main character Will exists in parallel worlds and his quest to rescue his sister is something a lot of us can identify with.
