Not being a fan of romance novels, I won’t be partaking of this one, but your review highlighted some original things about the story and the way it is told - the age difference, supporting characters and different points of view helping to bring the plot to life.

This seems like a great book. I can imagine how the age difference in relationships could be then as it is not well accepted here even among a teacher and his/her ex-student. Nice review.

I liked how the imagery of the title, Breaking Sandcastles, reinforces the insecurity and unpredictability of life. How each day nothing can be taken for granted because at any time things can change,either for better or worse. Everything in life is as fragile as a sandcastle on the beach

Hey. You've got some wisdom going on, which is really nice to see. Often we get caught up in the details of a review that we don't stop to share our own thoughts and feelings about what's happening in the story.
I'm not much of a romance fan but it's hard to ignore the enthusiasm of your review and 4 stars.

This sounds like a great book. It must be very hard for a new teacher to maintain a professional distance from their students. I’m glad Marion was careful to keep their relationship purely professional while he was in school. Thank you for your review!

I immediately thought about the gap in age and as a minor - not to cool. However, never has been an issue in the reverse for women. Sounds like a good read. Thanks for the review!

This book sounds interesting. Though, I’m not sure about the dynamics of the prior high school teacher and student-now-grown-adult. I’m not sure I’m intrigued enough to read this book even though it might be relatable. I’m sure others intrigue by the murder and disaster themes will enjoy it, though.

The smooth blend of romance and humour makes this book an exceptional read. I'd like to know how the couple coped with the age gap between them.

This seems to be an interesting book, sweet and heartwarming describing the difficult journey of Marion and Johnathon to their long awaited happily ever after. It must be an excellent read. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Well, I am not sure if this is a book I would read. I do love romance, but a romance between a teacher and a student with quite an age difference isn't something that I would enjoy. Congrats on the book of the day. Great review.

The wonderful love story between Marion and Jonathan seem to perfectly reflect the metaphor of the title. I like the fact that the author has done a great job both in terms of the storyline and the writing style. Thanks for a great review!
